I would like to say a very big thank you to the lady in the Crathorne Arms for introducing Dr M Orr to my husband and I, while visiting Crathorne a couple of weeks ago. His knowledge on the village was fantastic and the information he relayed to me gave me an insight as to where my ancestors came from such a quaint place. I managed to get photographs of my great great great grandparents grave such a shame I don't have a picture of them. My great grandfather was Thomas Matthew hall born 1860 in Crathorne to Thomas hall and Mary Jane Harrison I am led to believe he ran away from home at the age of sixteen to join the army ,which he did in the royal horse artillery as far as I know no contact was made with any of the relatives he left behind. A big thank you to Dr Orr for his help any town should be proud to have a gentleman like him in it best wishes carol.

well done mike!
